The three locations in Germany - Halle, Peine and Horb - enable us to transfer knowledge nationwide for the area of training and further education for specialists and managers. The European Centre for Dispersion Technologies – EZD for short – was established in 2014 at the SKZ site in Selb. There we deal with the production and characterisation of dispersions with the main focus on resin development.
The future of plastics processing has already begun: On May 25, 2020, construction work began on the SKZ model factory in Würzburg - a beacon with appeal far beyond the borders of Bavaria and Germany. The grand opening took place on November 9, 2022. The official move in finally followed in February 2023. More than 100 employees work together across disciplines and departments on three floors.
But we also work for the plastics industry beyond Europe's borders. Since 2009, for example, we have been offering certified training courses for plastic pipe welders for HDPE pipe networks in the gas and water supply sector together with our partner BMC Gulf LLC in Dubai.

At the main station, take bus no. 26 in the direction of Wöllriederhof/Pilziggrund to the Sandäcker stop. Then approx. 7 min walk (approx. 500 m).
The bus also stops at Briefzentrum at irregular intervals. From there approx. 4 min walk (240 m).

The Horb site focuses extensively on the training and further education of specialists in plastics processing. The processing of thermoplastic semi-finished products and the field of injection molding technology play a particularly important role here. Historical
The location in Baden-Württemberg was founded in Stuttgart back in 1972 with the aim of providing more effective support for plastics processing companies in south-west Germany.
Since September 2012, the SKZ location in Baden-Württemberg has moved to Horb am Neckar.

From the direction of Singen (A81): Drive in the direction of Stuttgart/Tübingen; take the Horb am Neckar exit.

The European Centre for Dispersion Technologies (EZD) is an interdisciplinary research and technology transfer center whose main focus is on the production and characterization of dispersions. One focus is on resin development. In order to be able to offer these services to industry, the EZD has a competent team and a wide range of equipment in modern laboratories. The establishment of EZD is funded by German Plastics Center SKZ and the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology and supported by the Bavarian Nanotechnology Cluster.
Improvements in the field of dispersing various material systems are of essential importance for a number of industrial partners, who also support EZD financially. In addition, EZD's expertise is being further developed through a close exchange of experience with the application laboratories of equipment manufacturers.
