Geosynthetics

Geosynthetics (GSY) are synthetic materials used in construction and engineering projects to overcome various geotechnical challenges. They are made from durable polymer materials and are known for their resistance to rotting, chemical influences and environmental conditions.

We test the following products for you:

  • Geotextiles such as geotextile fabrics (GTX-NW), geogrids (GTX-W), and geogrids (GTX-K)
    Textiles consisting primarily of synthetic fibers such as polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET), but also natural fibers.
  • Geotextile-related products such as geogrids (GGR) and geonets (GNT)
    Consist of a mostly three-dimensional net-like structure made of synthetic materials, mostly polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP).
  • Sealing membranes such as geosynthetic plastic sealing membranes (GBR-P, KDB)
    Flexible, flat materials made from synthetic plastics such as polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P), flexible polyolefins (FPO) or EPDM. They are characterized by their impermeable properties and are used as barriers to prevent the seepage of liquids or gases.
  • Geosynthetic bitumen sealing membranes (GBR-B)
    Consist of a glass and/or polyester fleece impregnated with polymer bitumen, which performs the sealing function. The surfaces are typically coated with sand or slate or covered with a thin non-stick film.
  • Geosynthetic clay membranes (GBR-C)
    Also known as bentonite mats, these are a combination of textile carrier layers and bentonite, a natural clay with high swelling capacity. These membranes are used as sealing systems in construction projects to prevent the penetration of water or other liquids.
  • Geocomposites for drainage (GCD)
    Also known as drainage mats, geosynthetics are used for drainage in construction projects. They consist of a combination of an inner drainage layer and filter layers, usually on both sides, to collect and drain water while maintaining the structure of the soil to be drained. These materials offer an efficient solution for water drainage in various geotechnical applications.
  • Geosynthetics for erosion control (GEC)
    Also commonly referred to as erosion control mats, these are special materials designed to prevent or reduce soil erosion caused by wind, water, or other environmental factors. These materials can include natural or synthetic geotextiles, geomats, and other geosynthetics that are used on the earth's surface to minimize soil erosion.
