VinylPlus®
Sustainability program for the PVC industry
VinylPlus® is the voluntary commitment of the European PVC industry to improve the sustainability of PVC products. The purpose of VinylPlus® is to reduce the environmental impact of PVC and promote the circular economy. The initiative has specific targets in the areas of recycling, energy efficiency, sustainable sourcing of raw materials and social responsibility. To achieve these, the program relies on neutral certification by a product certification body.
The SKZ is available as a notified VinylPlus® certification body for product certification as part of the VinylPlus® Product Label. Auditing is carried out by our qualified and experienced auditors throughout Europe.

Certification process
- [1] APPLICATION
Every VinylPlus® partner can apply online.
You can check your score yourself in advance! - [2] VERIFICATION
VinylPlus checks the application and informs the applicant about how their application will be processed. - [3] COMMISSIONING
- [4] PRE-AUDIT (optional)
Customer-specific information meeting to clarify open questions about the certification program - [5] ON-SITE AUDIT / INITIAL CERTIFICATION
The on-site audit takes place and the auditor prepares the audit report.
After positive completion of the audit, the certification body awards the VinylPlus® label certificate, which is valid for three years. - [6/7] ANNUAL SURVEILLANCE
- [8] RE-CERTIFICATION
After 3 years, a new re-certification can take place on site.
Transparency and impartiality
The program focuses on maximum transparency - all relevant audit documents are available before the audit. This allows you as a company to carry out a self-assessment in advance and assess how far you are in terms of VinylPlus sustainability targets.
The 2 systems are currently available for the assessment. VinylPlus® Product Label for PVC processors and VinylPlus® Supplier Certificates for manufacturer of compounds and additives.
