The SKZ Plastics Center is expanding its injection molding consulting services to include a practical potential analysis. Plastic processors can now receive targeted support directly on their production floors. The focus is on stable processes, skilled employees, and sustainable efficiency gains.

An SKZ expert conducts an on-site assessment of material flow, machine utilization, and production processes, taking into account the skill level of the employees. The structured final report identifies specific technical, organizational, and personnel needs for action and derives targeted optimization measures.
“Many companies today want a combination of process consulting and training that has an immediate impact on day-to-day production,” says Robert Held, Group Leader for Injection Molding and Additive Manufacturing Training at SKZ. “This is exactly where our potential analysis comes in.”
Qualified employees ensure the injection molding process
The analysis goes beyond a traditional audit and focuses on the interface between technology and people. It creates transparency regarding existing processes. The evaluation of machines, tools, setup processes, and material flows enables targeted measures to reduce scrap, cycle times, and energy consumption. At the same time, it provides a solid foundation for investment decisions and the long-term development of injection molding production toward greater stability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.
Identifying talent early and promoting it strategically
Another focus is on the systematic identification of employees’ strengths and development potential. Against the backdrop of a shortage of skilled workers, the potential analysis helps companies identify talent early and strategically qualify it for demanding tasks in process and machine optimization.
Free information session and new course offerings
On June 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the SKZ is offering the free information session “Competence Creates Efficiency in Injection Molding Operations.”
In addition, starting in 2026, the SKZ will launch the new live online course “Shop Floor Management in the Injection Molding Industry.” Participants will receive a set of proven tools for the structured analysis of production processes and the consistent reduction of waste. The goal is to achieve a sustainable increase in productivity. The course teaches proven methods such as OEE, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and SMED.
