Partners honored for long-standing, successful cooperation
The partnership between the SKZ Plastics Center and IANUS GmbH has been in place since 2017. Since then, both institutions have continued to develop together and have implemented a large number of innovative research projects. These include work on optimizing extrusion tools through the use of artificial intelligence, modeling melt behavior for 3D simulations of extruders, and designing pressure build-up zones.
The partners are currently working intensively on topics such as simplified material data determination for simulations and evaluating the potential of high-level computing for the plastics industry. A key feature of the cooperation is the close exchange with other industrial companies and users – including material suppliers, plant manufacturers, toolmakers, and processors – in order to make research results available for practical use as quickly as possible.
“The close, long-standing cooperation with IANUS is characterized by a high level of mutual trust and a shared commitment to actively promoting progress in plastics technology in an application-oriented manner,” emphasizes Dr. Johannes Rudloff, Head of Materials, Compounding, and Extrusion at SKZ. “The Premium Partner Research award is intended to highlight this special contribution and expressly emphasize the mutual appreciation.”
Those interested in the latest developments from the collaboration can find out more at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf. The SKZ stand is located in Hall 10 G09 and IANUS in Hall 6 D76.
