The aim of the new qualification is to offer comprehensive, practical, and flexible continuing education that meets the current requirements of the plastics industry. In addition to providing a solid foundation, the program teaches specialized subject matter and places particular emphasis on direct applicability in everyday professional life.
The degree program comprises a total of 16 to 18 days and is structured in modules based on proven SKZ course formats. This allows participants to focus on content that is relevant to their own company's orientation. The degree program comprises three compulsory modules lasting 13 days, which teach the fundamentals of quality assurance for plastics products. Within this framework, important fundamentals such as plastics science, quality management and process knowledge, statistics and relevant testing methods, as well as practical skills such as measuring plastic products, are taught.
Particularly practical: SKZ courses that have already been completed can be credited and expanded into a complete qualification with supplementary modules.
Elective and optional modules – specialization as required
While the compulsory modules teach general principles of quality assurance for plastic products, elective modules allow students to delve deeper into company-specific production processes. Additional optional modules offer further scope for individual profile development. The result is a continuing education program that is precisely tailored to personal requirements and operational practice.
“Our new degree offers an ideal combination of sound basic knowledge and practice-oriented specializations. Companies benefit from employees who not only check quality, but also act in a quality-conscious manner. This requires an in-depth understanding of everything from material properties to component manufacturing,” explains Christoph Kreutz, head of the Quality Management Training Center at SKZ.
The training courses take place mainly in the modern laboratories and technical centers of the SKZ. This gives participants direct insight into real testing and production processes.
With the “Plastics Quality Assurance Expert” qualification, the SKZ is responding to the growing demand for qualified specialists who can confidently master the increasing complexity of plastics processes and rising product quality requirements.
