Course Overview
Overview
This compact training course with the practical training on the machine provides participants with a general understanding of the major aspects of injection molding: the injection molding machine, process, molds and parameters. Furthermore, it gives an overview of the typical defects, which may occur during the injection molding process.
This course is ideal for career changer and an excellent refresher course for any employee involved in plastics processing from setters and operators to management and sales technicians, who interact with processors or other plastics professionals on a daily basis.
In online format, the course takes about 3 hours per day.

Target group: Employees in the plastics processing and chemical industries, as well as career changers
- Machine technoloy: clamping unit, injection unit, screws, nozzle etc.
- Injection molding cycle: process and effect of the parameters
- Material science: structure, charge behavior, drying, Processing instructions of the most important materials (PA, PBT, PC, GF-reinforced)
- Mold technology: different kinds of molds, cooling, hot runner technology, mold maintenance, grease
- Shrinkage and warpage: effect of the parameters, mold and material, pvT diagram, causes of distortion (4-M), distortion problems on sample parts
- Surface defects: free jet, weld lines, color, etc.
