WPC for Sandwich Injection Moulding
The results generated in the course of this research project represent a basic evaluation of the capabilities and limits of WPC as core material for sandwich injection moulding. The focus in this case lies on selecting suitable material pairs and testing the filling behavior.
The research project shall provide new findings about injection moulding of materials based on renewable resources. The thus generated research results shall enable the breakthrough of these materials, for example in the automotive, construction, or furniture sector or in the production of consumer goods.
The research project was performed in collaboration with the SKZ and the Kunststofftechnik Paderborn (KTP) at the University of Paderborn.
The IGF research project 17605 N of the research association FSKZ was supported by AiF within the framework of the program for the promotion of industrial joint research and development (IGF) of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
