System Analysis of Semi-Finished Products
Testing of semi-finished products, for example:

Pipes and fittings used in gas distribution and drinking water supply, in drinking water installation, drainage systems and waste discharge of buildings and plots of land as well as in heating systems. But we also test industrial pipes, cable protection pipes, eaves gutters, probes for geothermal energy and valves.
In practice, the components (semi-finished products) are not used separately but together in a system. That is why we are requested not only to test the individual components but also to perform a system test as stipulated in most of the standards and regulations.

Our services include:

• Dimensional analysis and determination of dimensional tolerances of pipes and  fittings
• Internal pressure tests of pipes and fittings with outside diameters of up to 400 mm at   temperatures of 20°C to 130°C in circulating-air oven or water bath
• Flexural impact test in accordance with DIN 8078
• Falling ball test in accordance with EN 744, EN 1411 and EN 1716
• 3-point bending test in accordance with ISO 178
• 4-point bending test (creep modulus) in accordance with DIN 19537-2
• Ring stiffness of pipes and moulded parts in accordance with DIN 16961-2, EN 13967 and ISO   9969
• Leak-tightness test in accordance with EN 1053, EN 1054 and EN 1277
• Resistance to elevated temperature cycling (without pressure) in accordance with EN 1055
• S4 test (rapid crack propagation) in accordance with ISO 13477
• Notch test in accordance with ISO 13479
• Full Notch Creep Test (FNCT) in accordance with ISO 16770, DVS 2203-4, annex 2
• Tensile creep test for welded joints in accordance with DVS 2203-4, annex 1
• De-cohesion tests for welded joints in accordance with ISO 13953, ISO 13954, ISO 13955 and   ISO 13956
• Analysis of pressure drop of component parts in accordance with EN 12117
• Resistance to dichlormethane test in accordance with EN 580
• Excess pressure and reduced pressure tests in accordance with DVGW W 534
• Water hammer test in accordance with DVGW W 534
• Temperature cycling test in accordance with DVGW W 534
• Flexural fatigue test in accordance with DVGW W 534
• Bending test in accordance with DVGW W 534
• Expanding test for multilayer pipes in accordance with DVGW W 542
• Temperature cycling test with immersion for multilayer pipes in accordance with DVGW W 542
• Delamination test for multilayer pipes in accordance with DVGW W 542
• Resistance to longitudinal force of joints plus leak-tightness test in accordance with DVGW VP   600

system_pruef1.jpg Temperature cycling is a standard procedure used in pipe system analysis. This procedure simulates in an accelerated test the changes in stress a pipe is exposed to by heating and cooling during its operating period.
system_pruef2.jpgSystem analysis requires that individual components are tested as well. The pipe shown has been tested hydrostatically for its resistance to internal pressure.
